News: THE EMPIRE > WEEZY

Well, how should I start this off, incase you've been living under a rock for the past few days, there is something brewing between Lil Wayne, and The BOSS aka The EMPIRE. What started out as a something good last year (see cover above) has now completely turned around.  With Wayne making comments like, F**K empire, "I hope the empire dies twice tomorrow" etc, today was the first shot back from The Empire, in an interview with XXL magazine, The Empire says

"He gotta look at his inside camp and understand that I got those records from somebody that sits right next to him on a bus…That’s co-signing him while he’s talking about me. I’m not gonna put his name out there, but it’s one of those guys. They’re sitting next to him every day.”

The Empire goes on to say that he spoke to Wayne after Part 2 of "The Drought is Over" and they were supposed to work on a project together.  That never happened.  As it goes, Tha Carter III is getting mixed reviews at this point, he is expected to go gold at the least in his first week.  For more on this story, go to XXL or your favorite blog site.

News: NE-YO X LINDSAY LOHAN

Ne-Yo is set to release “Year of the Gentleman” on August 15th via Def Jam. But in the middle of working on his own project he found time to pen a new record with Stargate for Linsay Lohan’s next album, the track is called “Bossy.”
“ ‘I gotta admit, we were like ... Lindsay Lohan?' Ne-Yo says with a laugh. ‘I mean, I've written for Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Celine Dion and ... Lindsay Lohan? But I will say this; we gave her a quality record and she did a ridiculously fabulous job. I was so shocked I had to call her and apologize for what I was thinking because she did so good. I think the world is gonna be surprised.’
Ne-Yo also wrote “Spotlight” which is the first single from Jennifer Hudson’s self titled debut album which drops in September.

T-Pain is eyeing a Sept. 30 release for his third album, "Thr33 Ringz", which will be released by Konvict Muzik/Zomba. The first single, "Snap You Fingers" featuring Lil' Wayne, is expected to hit radio next month.

According to a Zomba spokesperson, a video for "Snap Yo Fingers" is in the works and T-Pain is currently hard at work producing the new album with Akon.

This week's Hot 100 chart boasts three songs featuring T-Pain, including Flo Rida's breakout single "Low," which sits at No. 16 after 27 weeks.

The R&B singer garnered five BET Awards nominations last week, including nods for best collaboration for his work with Chris Brown ("Kiss Kiss"), Kanye West ("Good Life") and Flo Rida ("Low").

"Epiphany," T-Pain's 2007 album, has sold 819,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Bow Wow the actor?

Shad Moss aka (Lil) Bow Wow is all growed up, he will now focus on acting full time, to "be more like Will Smith." After 6 albums he has decided its enough. His first job will be on Nickelodeon on the 'Rugrats' reunion special, as they are in college now, this will air in August. You must know I'm joking, lol. "Moss has joined the upcoming fifth season of HBO's "Entourage" in a recurring role, playing Charlie, a new stand-up comic client of E (Kevin Connolly)."

Not to mention the artists in his stable that he was helping groom for greatness: Mikkey Halsted, Rhymefest, Miss Criss and Tajji.
